Fourth Ward Pre-Construction Condos Charlotte, NC
Fourth Ward Charlotte is located directly South West of the intersection of Trade and Tryon. This ward is considered the most desired ward to live in due to it's lush greenery and small amount of traffic noise. The Fourth Ward gives you the feeling of living outside the city while being in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. In the 1850's, Fourth Ward was a prosperous residential area, convenient to downtown businesses and shops. As residential development shifted to the suburbs with the opening of Dilworth in the late nineteenth century, all of Charlotte's original residential wards would see an eventual decline. By the 1970's, many of Fourth Ward's Victorian homes had been demolished or converted to boarding houses and offices. Through the combined efforts of civic and community leaders, Fourth Ward underwent a dramatic revitalization in the 1970's. Citadin is one of the newest additions to the Fourth Ward having replaced the Fourth Ward Square Apartment Complex. Up to six condominium buildings totaling 450,000 square feet with 20,000 square feet of retail and parking comprise the modern structure. Of the six condominium buildings, two will reach 25 floors with amazing views of the city skyline. Citadin combines brownstones, townhomes, two high-rises, and two-midrises.
The first structure, 10 floors with 83 units, will be at the corner of 8th and Graham Streets and be completed by July of 2007. Condos at Citadin will be 600 to 2,500 square feet. The project will feature three pools and 40% of the site will be saved for open space.
