Second Ward Condos Charlotte, NC

The history of Second Ward reaches back to the beginning of the 19th century where the very diversified community of Second Ward thrived for several decades. The neighborhood of "Brooklyn", taken from Brooklyn New York in the early 1900's, represented a self-sustainable town within a town. The thriving mixed use neighborhood featured business ranging from J.R. Hemphill, Real Estate Man and Tailor; N.H. Tomas, Shoemaker; ACME Pressing Club; Eagles Drub Store; several barber shops and other neighborhood businesses all within the economically diverse neighborhood of Brooklyn. It was the home to some of the most wealthy and educated, as well as poor and uneducated portions of the black community. In 1904, it provided Charlotte with Brevard Street Library, the first free black library in the South, in 1923 it established Second Ward High School, the first urban black high school in Charlotte, as well as establishing Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church which remains a part of the current Second Ward. In 2001, the City of Charlotte issued a proposal for the redevelopment of Second Ward. This includes the introduction of: * An Urban School * Diversity of Housing * Green Streets * Neighborhood Park * Strong Connectivity to adjacent Neighborhoods

The Madison

The Madison Condos is located in 2nd Ward right off of Martin Luther King, Jr Blvd.  There are a total of 26 units with all the upgrades you can imagine.  Some of these upgrades include, marble-hardwood flooring, recessed lighting, custom cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, large private terraces. fire places granite countertops in bathrooms and kitchens

The Madison Condos is definately a unique one as it sits between two hotels, the Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn Uptown.  The building is also near the Nascar Hall of Fame, Charlotte Convention Center and two blocks away from the Light Rail.  Although situated between two hotels, the views are surprisingly nice as the lowest units start on the 7th floor.

The Ratcliffe

The Ratcliffe is quite possibly the most prestigious of all the Uptown properties. Located on N. Tryon Street in the heart of the Center City and sitting on "The Green", living in the Ratcliffe grants you instant access to the best of Charlotte. The Ratcliffe Residential Building is named after the historic flower shop on the ground level that was moved and then replaced in its original position with the new building built around it. The new building itself is attractive to look at and offers a neat and unique addition to downtown Charlotte.

The park is surrounded by 60,000 square feet of retail and office space. Restaurants and retail shops will open to the park from a European-style arcade positioned along one side of the park and a three-story brick and glass building on the opposite side, overlooking the park.

The Trust

The Trust Condos are located at 139 Tryon Street in the heart of Uptown Charlotte.  The Trust is the most luxurious buildings in Uptown and the closest residential building to center city.  This seven story building only has a combined 7 residents which makes it very exclusive.  The prices of the these units range typically range from 1.5 million to the 3 million.  The units also vary in size as they range from 3,200 to 6,800 Sq Ft.

This once commercial building was converted into residential units in 2009 and is primarily made of concrete which makes sound mitigation fantastic for condo living.  The units have very detailed finishes the latest high end appliances.  Most of the condos feature wall to ceiling glass windows, multiple large recessed outdoor living spaces, high end finishes, gourmet kitchens, spa style bathrooms, and customizable floor plans.  Each unit is different as they were all 100% customized before closing.
